CSV Cleaner & Deduplicator

Trim cell edges, remove blank records and exact duplicate rows, while preserving quoted commas and multiline values.

Load up to 1 MB and 5,000 data records plus one header. Completely blank records are removed. All remaining records must have the same number of columns. Automatic detection uses the first non-empty record; choose a delimiter explicitly if the preview looks wrong.

Safe export prefixes formula-like cells with an apostrophe. Exact export preserves values; spreadsheet software may interpret formulas.

Clean a sheet without inventing values

The cleaner reads comma-separated or tab-separated data, preserving commas and line breaks inside correctly quoted fields. It removes completely blank records, can trim whitespace from cell edges and can remove repeated data rows after that trimming. The first copy of a repeated row stays in its original position.

Deduplication compares the complete row and is case-sensitive. It does not merge rows merely because one URL or name is the same, change letter case or decide which conflicting record is correct. A header, when selected, is kept separately from the data rows.

Inspect the preview and export choice

  1. Paste the data or select a file to read locally in your browser.
  2. Check the delimiter and decide whether the first non-empty record is a header.
  3. Run the cleaner, review the removal counts and inspect the preview of up to 100 data records.
  4. Choose the export format deliberately and download the cleaned CSV.

Spreadsheet-safe export prefixes formula-like values with an apostrophe, including values that begin with a formula marker after whitespace. This can also affect a negative number or a phone number beginning with a plus sign. Exact export preserves the cell values but spreadsheet software may interpret formula-like content when you open it.

Resolve errors at the source

Unclosed quotes, unexpected text after a closing quote and inconsistent column counts produce an error rather than a silently padded sheet. Choose the delimiter explicitly when automatic detection is ambiguous. Blank records count toward the loading limit, and the tool is intended for small working batches rather than a large database export.

The downloaded CSV contains every retained record, even when the on-screen preview stops at 100. Keep the original file so you can compare the result before using it in another system.
