HTML Link Analyzer

Turn a page’s HTML into a clear link inventory, then review the destinations and labels before publishing.

Paste HTML, not a website URL. This reviews up to 1 MB and 2,000 HTML anchor elements locally. Internal means the same protocol, hostname and port as the page URL. No destination is fetched, so the output does not confirm HTTP status or indexing.

Relative links use this page URL unless the pasted HTML contains a base href.

Enter the page URL and supply HTML, or load the worked example.

Build a review list from the supplied HTML

The analyzer lists HTML anchor elements in their source order, including anchors without an href. It resolves relative web addresses against the original page URL and honors the first base href in the sample. HTTP and HTTPS links are classified by exact origin; email, telephone and other schemes are kept separate.

The label column uses text inside the anchor, then image alt text, aria-label or title as fallbacks. That is a practical inventory rather than a complete accessible-name calculation. CSS visibility, iframe contents, nested template contents and links added later by JavaScript are outside this supplied-HTML check.

Review section targets and the surrounding sentence

  1. Enter the complete URL of the page the HTML came from.
  2. Paste the relevant HTML or select an HTML/text file to read locally.
  3. Analyze the sample, then inspect each row’s destination, label and notes.
  4. Confirm any absent same-page fragment target against the complete document.
  5. Download the CSV and record your editing decisions separately.

Same-page fragment checks look for matching IDs or legacy named anchors in the supplied sample. A missing target in a partial article does not establish a broken live link. Repeated destinations, generic labels and nofollow on internal links are prompts for a contextual review; they are not a Google score or an instruction to change every link.

Export the inventory before changing the website

The preview shows the first 100 anchors. The CSV contains all anchors within the 2,000-element limit, with the original href, resolved URL, label source, rel tokens, target and review notes. Formula-like cells receive an apostrophe prefix for spreadsheet review. Keep the original HTML because this prefix can change exported cell text.

For a tested example and the decisions behind the notes, read how to review internal links from a page’s HTML. Use the Heading Outline Checker for the page structure or the CSV Cleaner for a separate working export.

The pasted HTML is parsed in an inert template and is never inserted into the visible page. Results are rendered as text. The analyzer does not fetch URLs, execute pasted scripts, verify redirects, inspect a whole website or request search-engine indexing.
